Silloth Nursing Home is unique. From the moment you walk in the door you can’t help but notice the relaxed caring atmosphere.
Doors in the home are not locked allowing residents to move freely as they would in their own home. The staff you meet greet you warmly, taking the take time to stop and chat with visitors and residents alike, creating a caring atmosphere where there is genuine interest in the well being of others.
The quiet professional atmosphere almost certainly comes from the fact that core team of carers and in particular the senior management team have been working together for well over a decade. Like a well oiled machine the home runs smoothly, the carers all know each residents likes, dislikes, care needs and personal quirks. This efficiency allows carers time to spend quality time with residents and their families ensuring its not just their physical care needs that are fully supported but also their emotional and pastoral needs
Residents of the home are encouraged to lead rich and fulfilling lives. The home offers a wide range of activities and events with residents having the choice to take part or not. Residents have the opportunity to take part in old favourites such as bingo, dominos and sing songs through to fit for life exercise classes, reminiscing and slideshows.
The home regularly organises trips for residents to Workington and Dobbies for afternoon tea and some shopping.
