Without a doubt it is the staff are the most important element in creating a warm caring atmosphere for our residents. The homes reputation is the result of the quality of care given by our professional and fully trained care staff, many of whom have worked at Silloth Nursing Home for many years.
We understand the importance of appointing people who are committed to the ethos of the Home. Each member of staff undergoes a rigorous appointment procedure, including criminal checks, followed by a detailed induction process. A continuous staff training programme is implemented to ensure that standards are maintained.
Our team of dedicated and trained professionals provides 24-hour care based on personal needs and levels of dependency of the residents. We regularly receive feedback on the excellent levels of care provided by staff. We experience a low turnover of staff, which is a testament to their commitment and job satisfaction in working at Silloth Nursing Home, resulting in consistently high standards of care to our residents.
This is something that was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who wrote in a recent inspection report:
“We found that this home was particularly effective in delivering consistently high quality care because of the emphasis it placed on building a really strong staff development programme. The provider valued their staff and saw them as an asset when delivering high quality care to people. Staff received extensive training and support to meet people’s needs effectively.”
